EPISODE 14: ROSIE LOVELL: AUTHOR, CHEF & TV PRESENTER
Margie’s castaway this week is Rosie Lovell.
Rosie is a cooking superstar. She has set up not one but two fantastic delis. She’s a cookery author, a TV presenter and just generally cooks incredibly delicious things!
She opened her first café at the age of just 23 which is so impressive and she just been killing it ever since basically.
I love her Desert Island Dishes choices – and she lets us in on lots of her culinary secrets and some great places to eat. PLUS - we get an exclusive on how to make the perfect Portuguese custard tart – I’m winking at this point – only you cant see that because this is a podcast (if you’ve listened to this episode this joke will make sense.) My goodness I do love a Portuguese custard tart.
For all my joking – Rosie is a fantastic cook – her food is genuinely delicious – I have eaten in her delis many times and can highly recommend popping to Peckham for a visit.
I can't wait to experiment with Togarashi – sounds great and those sesame noodles sound fab, as does the pureed parsnips and that chicken dish. Generally just loads of delicious inspiration in this episode. I love Rosie's approach to food, she doesn't follow the fads, it's just wholesome and honest food that is truly delicious.
And we are totally aligned on making an effort with the way your food looks. Take the time to decant your supermarket meal into a bowl, get rid of the plastic container and make an effort even if it's just for yourself because food is there to be enjoyed and a little bit of effort goes a long way.
Desert Island Dish: Sushi and sake from Akasaka
Luxury item: chopping boards
This is a fun filled episode with lots of laughter, so grab a cuppa and have a listen.
